PSJ EDITORIAL POLICIES 

Checklist for manuscript submission

  • Be an original contribution that was not published before and is not considered by any other journal for publication.
  • Be written in the English language. The manuscript language has to be clear, correct, and concise. You are requested to revise the language and grammar before submission
  • For initial submission please note that you do not need to comply with specific formatting. Feel free to use any established, organized scientific publication standard. For submission, MSWord is the preferred file format. Please embed tables and figures within text in the initial submission.
  • Please identify the level of evidence your study provides (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK470182/). 
  • Please note that PSJ does not tolerate plagiarism. We recommend that authors revise their work thoroughly before submission.
  • The manuscript has been granted permission of use of copyrighted material embedded in the submitted manuscript.  

Quality control of submitted manuscripts

  1. Every submitted manuscript will undergo a preliminary assessment regarding fit for the journal priorities and quality expectations for further peer-review.
  2. Checking similarity and plagiarism detection screening
  3. Checking compliance with established research quality standards i.e., CONSORT guidelines for randomized clinical trials; PRISMA for systematic reviews; CARE for case reports and AGREE for clinical practice guidelines manuscripts.  
  4. Double blinded peer review by at least 2 reviewers in order to evaluate the potential for acceptance for publication in PSJ. (Authors have the option to request exclusion of a limited number of people as peer-reviewers).
  5. Notification of authors regarding recommended and/or necessary changes.
  6. Repeated peer-review, potentially involving additional reviewers, in case of significant changes
  7. Final editorial decision 

Final manuscript structure:

Please use line numbering throughout your manuscript. The manuscript would be better written in font 12 with double space in between lines. 

Please submit 2 separate files:

1- Title file:

  • Title
  • Short Running title of no more than 80 characters
  • Author name(s), please mention full academic affiliation, ORCID ID and email addresses for each author. Please provide the author(s)  URL whenever applicable. Please note that order of authors cannot be changed after acceptance of the work.
  • Corresponding Author name: please mention full academic affiliation, email address(es) of the corresponding author who will be responsible for submission, addressing editorial requests and providing revision if requested by PSJ.
  • Author(s) contribution.
  • Conflict of interest statement.
  • Funding body acknowledgment.
  • Approve that the Creative Commons Licensing of submitted manuscript is CC-BY-NC-ND. (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/)
  • IRB/Authority in charge that approved study if applicable.

2- Main File:

  • Structured Abstract: no more than 350 words briefly specifying the background, aim(s) of the work, material and methods describing main intervention, the main results obtained, and the conclusion(s). Citations must not be included in the abstract. The graphical abstract should be provided as well. It should be illustrated, clear, carries the title of the research, and convey unbiased findings and outcomes of the study.
  • Keywords: up to 6 keywords separated by a semicolon (in alphabetical order) which will enable subsequent abstracting or information retrieval systems to locate your work.
  • Main text: is provided under the following headings:
  • Introduction: concise and clear text that describes the background of the work and its aims.
  • Methods: a brief description of the methods/interventions used (please note that intervention detailed description should allow reproducibility of the work or direct readers to references or standard texts that would allow them to do so). Please describe the statistical methods used to analyze the data of the study. Please use Système International (SI) units, generic drug names, specify supplier name, city, country, and model/year of equipment.
  • Results: are presented in unbiased clear language, highlighting any points of interest or refuting it. 
  • Discussion and Conclusions: a brief explanation of the significance, implications of the work reported, limitations of the work and future recommendations and perspectives. Conclusion(s) should be based upon own findings. 
  • Acknowledgment: a brief statement of conflict of interest and funding body.

Please note the order in reference citation of journal articles: Author family name  AA, Author family name BB, Author family name CC, family name Author DD. Title of article. Abbreviated title of journal. Date of publication YYYY; volume number(issue number): page numbers. E.g.: Hamza HS, Fadel FI, Hegazy RA, Labib MR. The effect of hemodialysis on Q-T interval on children with chronic renal failure. J Egypt Soc Parasitol. 2010;40(3):733-44. +/- DOI (if available).

Please note order in reference citation of books Author family name AA. Title of the book. Editors. Edition [if not first]. Place of publication (Country, City): Publisher; Year of publication. Page numbers (pp). If available online please add link and date of accessibility (Available at (link)). Accessed on (date)

Figures and Tables: Should have an informative title, and an explanatory legend, including abbreviations, used.   

Article Processing Charge:
PSJ does not incur publication fees or article processing charges.
