Peer Review Process

After submission, the manuscript undergoes initial technical check regarding the compliance with the journal scope,  priorities and quality expectations for further peer-review. The manuscript is then checked for similarity, screened for plagiarism and compliance with established research quality standards i.e., CONSORT guidelines for randomized clinical trials; PRISMA for systematic reviews; CARE for case reports and AGREE for clinical practice guidelines manuscripts. The manuscript is then assigned by one or more associate editor(s)/and or Advisory Board Member(s) for double blind peer review by two or more qualified peers, and assessed for possible publication by Pediatric Sciences Journal if ethically, methodologically, statistically and scientifically sound. The peer review is objective and criterion based.

Authors have the option to request reviewers or exclusion of a limited number of peers as peer-reviewers at the initial submission only. Authors are notified and invited to submit their revised manuscript in view of points raised by reviewers and/or provide a scientific argument to support their views within a time frame. Repeated peer-review, potentially involving additional reviewers, in case of significant changes might be deemed necessary.

The final decision is made by the Editor in Chief, executive editors, associate editor(s), and reviews on the merit of abiding by ethics of research, the rigor of the methodology, and sound scientific conclusions based upon findings.
